Arron Sted, an Electrician for AJK Electrical, chatted to us about his Smartvan experience. Hi Arron! Before we talk about your racking experience, we’d love to know what made you decide to go for Smartvan?

Sure! Well my boss, Ash, has already worked alongside bott Smartvan. He has had three vans fully kitted out by this point, so I knew how brilliantly the systems have worked in the field. After working out of a few of his vans, it was a no-brainer to follow suit when my new van arrived.

What are the biggest changes you’ve noticed in your day-to-day since installing your van racking?

It’s all about speed. The pace at which I can now find stock items and tools in the van has made such a difference. Everything is laid out and has its place. No more opening the back of the van and dreading the mess inside! My van racking makes everything easier to put away and gives everything a home.

What has impressed you the most about your new set up?

The most impressive thing is simply the organised work space you can achieve. It makes things SO much faster and less stressful. The build quality of the framework and organisers is also a stand out. Plus, the support from the team at bott made the world of difference. They help you to understand which products there are and what to pick for your specific setup.

Have there been any key money-saving benefits?

For sure. The time saved looking for items is significant - over the weeks it really adds up and that saves the company and clients money. I don’t know how anybody can work from a pile in a van or from large boxes in the back!

In terms of van racking accessories, which is your favourite?

The organisers are amazing! I don’t think you could have enough. I also love the cable holder shelves and the load straps that have recently come out. As soon as I saw them I ordered two lots!

Do you have any advice to people considering racking out their vans?

Put simply? GET IT! It’s an investment in your business that will pay back more than you realise. It will last 10 times longer than any wood van racking system. Plus, it looks 100 times more professional.

You should see the customer’s faces when they see a decked out van - they love it. I also feel like it gives them confidence in you, as it looks so professionally organised.
