The ID Buzz hit the vehicle market in 2022, and our innovative team of designers worked hard to ensure we had a new vehicle-specific racking system ready for it! Interest was high leading up to the product launch, and many orders were placed as soon as the system became available. The arrival of a new all-electric van highlighted again the importance of choosing a lightweight, and no-drill racking system which won't compromise the complex electrics of your vehicle, and won’t wear out the battery! bott Smartvan's racking only ever uses the existing fixing points of your vehicle, so with us you never have to worry about incurring any damage to the vans interior.
The ID Buzz has a fairly compact interior, so our team focused on ensuring the racking sits as close to the van walls as possible to maximize the load area. The dual sliding doors mean you can access your van accessories from the outside, and you’ve got the option of having a raised floor depending on the type of cargo you have to carry.
One of our first customers in the queue for our modular ID Buzz racking system, was Tom Mendoza from Express Electrical, who first enquired long before the vehicle was available. Tom had previously purchased our modulo2 racking system (which he still has in another van), so already knew that our racking is the best on the market for Electricians, and that another modular racking system from bott Smartvan was a must-have for his next van. "Could you tell us a bit about your trade, and why van racking is important for your work?"
"We are an electrical contractors, our main work is domestic and heavily towards call-outs and maintenance based jobs. All require a good range of stock to avoid wasting time in wholesalers and to enable jobs to be completed quickly. That racking allows us to have clearly labelled boxes for materials and our tools to speed up our day which means we can be more efficient."
"You previously had our Modulo-2 racking installed - what drove you to choose bott Smartvan again for the new kit?"
"We were able to move the Modulo 2 racking into another new van we just purchased, the newer modulo 3 is in the ID Buzz. So we now have 2 vans using the kit. As we get new vans this racking will go in as standard. After having the older style racking for 4 years in my previous van I knew i never wanted to go back to squeaky plywood racking again. Looks so professional and made my working day so much easier."

"Could you tell us how you found the installation process, e.g would you say installing our self-fit racking would be doable for most people?"
"I started at around 8am and was done by around 1. That’s 4 units plus the raised floor. All went together very well, everything lines up perfectly. Plenty of spare fixings come with the kit and is enjoyable to fit."
We estimate that our racking modules and floor kits can take anywhere between 1 and 2 hours to install – Tom completed his install in time for lunch which is pretty impressive! But if it's your first time installing our products, you may find you require a bit more time to get everything set up exactly how you want it.
"What would you say the best features of our racking are?"
"Build quality, precision when it comes to assembly and with number of different options available for each van. I spent hours on the website playing around with the setup I was after."
"How would you rate the customer service and ordering experience of bott?"
"Customer service has always been brilliant, I contacted bott Smartvan last year regarding the ID Buzz and asked if it was on the list, they said they would let me know if they decide to start producing a kit for that van, which they did. From ordering, to being told dispatch and delivery times, all spot on."

"Finally, are there any ways you think we could improve our product and offering in future?"
"Luckily I knew how to build the kit from experience but some of the drawings are a bit blurry and some could get confused on the orientation of some of the parts."
